i can't believe I found that out from your blog. just think - a little over a year ago it would have been nigh ridiculous to imagine that I would have learned Australian news from you. And now my two best friends are both married, and here in Australia .. you and Tere. Wedding was this weekend. Watch the blog.

It is very sad to watch the news. They mentioned he has a son who will be 3 in December. That's just a few month older than Rachel. How horrible to have to tell him that his Daddy isn't coming home. Is AU in a state of mourning?

Yeah, it is so sad. Whole front pages of newspapers are dedicated to it. I think I saw a special edition devoted to him on sale at the newsagent this morning. It's pretty shocking.
Last night one of the dufus announcers for Australian Idol started out the show saying, "Crikey, what a day." Butthead.

Wow, I just read that the Queensland Premier is offering the Irwin family to have a state funeral.

It's amazing how fast the news spread. Literally within hours, I had two phone calls and three people tell me. And I'm in a little town in Indiana... his impact was and is world-wide. He's left an amazing legacy of love for God's animal kingdom.
My heart is aching too...I'm not sure why either. I just can't stop thinking about his family...
