It seems to be one of those substances where it is palatable if you were raised eating it, but it comes as quite a shock to the uninitiated.
I think mental preparation is the key if you should ever get the opportunity to try it. (I've seen it at Kroger before -- Kraft brand.) It looks deceivably like a thick chocolate spread, but don't let that fool you. It is the saltiest substance I've ever tasted. It's like salt with salt on top.
Of course, half the battle is getting it to your mouth, because it stinks like nobody's business.
Hans loves it, so we do have some in our fridge. He likes it on toast, but due to its high concentration, you only put the smallest bit on and spread it super thin.
